This piece was originally conceived as a double choir piece, one choir being SSA and other TTBB. It is a mashup of two American Civil War songs. I was trying to create two different scenes happening at the same time. One, the women at home thinking about their loved one off fighting in the war. The second, the men sitting around the campfire at the end of the day of battle thinking about the women at home.
